Two Hands Film

The Two Hands film is a comedy crime thriller written and directed by Gregor Jordan filmed entirely in New South Wales, Australia during 1998, screened at the Sundance Film Festival and then released July 29th, 1999 in Australia. In the same year it won the Australian Film Institute Award for Best Film. Although screened originally in the United States it wasn't officially released there until it made its debut on DVD on December 6th 2005.

The Two Hands film stars a young Heath Ledger as Jimmy, a man in debt to the local crime lord Pando, portrayed by Bryan Brown. The Two Hands film opens with Jimmy, a strip club employee wanting to belong to the local gang is hired by Pando to make a delivery of $10,000 to a woman as a test. While waiting for her arrival, Jimmy makes the mistake of taking a swim, leaving the money unattended on the beach. It is then stolen by some local kids along with the car Jimmy used to make the delivery, which belongs to Acko, played by David Field.

The only solution Jimmy can come up with to repaying the missing money is by robbing a local bank and while recruiting his own crew for the heist meets up with Alex, portrayed by Rose Bryne, at the local pub. This proves to be another mistake, as Pando has already sent his gang out in search of Jimmy and the missing money. After a comedy of errors, and with the help of Jimmy's otherworldly brother, he manages to escape the gang, to attempt the robbery. Although one of Jimmy's crew is killed by police during the robbery, Jimmy is still successful in obtaining the money he needs...twice.

Jimmy then makes his way to Pando to repay the debt, who in turn wants to hire him again because of his ability to survive. Jimmy realizes that the life of a gangster is not for him and he and Alex decide to leave the pressures behind them, but not before an unforgettable ending in the Two Hands film for both Pando and his gang.
