Roar The Complete Series

Roar The Complete Series was an American television show filmed entirely in Queensland, Australia that was originally aired on the FOX broadcasting network starting on July 14th, 1997. The Fox broadcasting network hoped that releasing Roar during the success of both the Hercules and Xena franchises that they would have a ratings winner and a loyal following of viewers. Although Roar debuted with very high ratings, throughout the season the number of viewers steadily declined and by the original broadcast of episode 8, Roar was cancelled, leaving the remaining 5 original episodes unaired. Since it's cancellation, Roar The Complete Series has been broadcast numerous times through syndication in other countries including France, Romania, Germany, Hungary, Australia, Canada, the UK as well as the United States in its entirety and due to the success of the show in syndication, Roar The Complete Series was released on DVD September 19th, 2006 in a 3 disc box set.

Roar The Complete Series took place in the year 400 A.D. and was set in the ancient Ireland region known as Hibernia. It starred Heath Ledger as the 20 year old orphaned Prince Conor who strives to reunite the Celtic Clans so they can together rid Hybernia of the invading Romans. The invading Romans are led by Longinus, played by Sebastian Roché, the 400 year old immortal Roman Centurion and sorceror who is the same man that stabbed Jesus Christ during the Crucifixion with the Spear of Destiny and punished by God to walk the land forever. He fights on behalf of the evil Queen Diana, played by Lisa Zane. Conor is originally aided in his quest by the only other survivor of the raid on Conors village that left him an orphan, Fergus his loyal bodyguard, played by John Saint Ryan. Together they scour the lands in search of others to join the fight which throughtout Roar The Complete Series includes Galen, a wise man that possesses the secrets of good magics and power, played by Norman Kaye. Tully, played by Alonzo Greer, who is a sarcastic young troublemaker and Caitlan, played by Vera Farmiga, a former slavegirl who has become a fearsome warrior during the dark times. Together, they fight to bring peace to Hybernia and help others during there quest.
